Sneaking smokes from my sister's bedside drawer. You called me up crying and I had to tell you it was true. I know your Mum was drunk, but she cares more than anyone. Days spent in your pool when it's too hot to be anywhere else. I kissed you and you tasted like Cheezels, once. God, his skin is so clear, so tan and his lips with an amazing cupids bow. When you pee'd behind a tree on a main road. In the cinemas you always tell me no one's looking. We both fit the same jeans. I finally got the courage to yell at her, she shut up. I hate that you're better at Home Ec than me, but I tell you otherise. You're there for me when no-one else is. The long bike rides to the Top- Shop for red liquorice and Ovalteenies. His impeciable taste in foot-wear. Long bus-rides from the city and dread-beads. Secret kisses in cooking. Your mum's ginger cake that's always in a little alfoil package for me to take home. Un-buttoning the doona and sitting inside it on cold days. The fight for some-ones icey-pole when it's over 30 degrees. Connecting the freckles on my arms. Promise me you'll live the moment, this is just the beginning.
