if your goverment was perfect how could they let a teenager buy a gun and then walk into a school and shoot people?

Because they're trying to give some freedom and give teenagers equal rights I suppose.
They didn't know what the teenager was gonna do.

then perhaps if they had harder laws about fire arms then they wouldnt get school shootings and also if the people who sell the bullets didnt sell them to underage people then there wouldnt be any school shootings if freedom means that you can own a gun at 15 i think i will stay in this country.

Brian May from queen says in a song "guns dont kill people, people kill people, yeah people with guns" i hate guns they should only be used for the army and farmers because farmers have to protect chickens and livestock from foxxes. (not that i agree with fox hunting mind because i dont)

I wish there was no such thing as the army.
I wish there was no such thing as war.
I wish everyone could get along.
I wish mankind had never come along.
I wish the earth could still be unspoilt.

But we've fucked it up. We fucked it all up. We fucked it up big time.

And there's no going back.

yeah we sure have fucked up big tme. We could start by not selling guns to youngsters and making sure that guns stay on gun ranges. (not that i 100% agree with them either)

Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen the movie Elephant. It's an amazing absolutely amazing piece of cimenatography. Like just so amazing. Its basically about this kid, who's life is pretty screwed, and throughout the movie, there's like foreshadowing, you don't really know who the shooter is going to be, but you know it's going to happen. And they follow several people during the day, and it keeps going back and forth in time to different people's perspectives and then you find out and the shooting happens and all. It's just amazing though. Cause it really makes you think about what goes on through these kids minds when they are shooting. And the effects are great. It is a bit gory, but just so amazingly awesome. I highly recommend you watch it.

yeah i've seen it i thought that it was ok.

if guns werent so readily avaliable then school shootings wouldnt happen, also if there were more places for these young kids to go and talk to some one perhaps they wouldnt happen, but casting blame on the school wont help. we have to look at the pupils in the school because there are always kids who will be popular, geeks, nerds, cheer leaders, jokcs and there will allways be the kids who get bullied and hirt whenever they go to school. I guess what i am saying is that there will always be a social devide and we should look at that before any more can be done with un happy children.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but sometimes the whole School shooting thing is over done. I fully agree with a zero tolerence policy for violence in schools, and serious threats should be taken care of and the student should be dealt with, but where does joke and serious threat collide? As much violence as there is, there is another extreme.

Im an office Aid, and I have it seventh hour, which is when the princiable and the Assistant princible deal with all the disiplice problems, so I hear alot of things, some are funny, some are stupid, some are just plain wierd, but about 2 weeks ago I heard one that sickened me, and yesterday the same thing happened with different students, and this is just at my school.

I was in the office and a student walked in with handcuffs, escorted by 2 police officers and her parents. She was crying. So they walk into the princibles office and immeditatly begin questioning her as to why she has violent thoughts and if she suffers from depression. After about 20 minutes of getting no response from her other then whats going on, they explained what the whole ordeal was about, evidently in the hall, a teacher heard her say to another student "Oh My Gosh, I could just shoot you!" and that went against the strict violence policy. SHe was joking with a friend, I mean really, that phrase is used all the time. She was arrested and escorted of school premisis. This is going on her permanent record, she is considered violent. I was going to post this yesterday when it happened, but I wanted to be able to tell you how she was punished. As of now she is kicked out for 45 days (and in my school, if you miss more then 15 days a symester, you automatically fail, reguardless of grades, so there goes her eighth grade year) and is up for expolsion. I dont see how a policy like that is fixing the violence policy at all. All thats doing is giving her alot of emotional trama and stress, isnt that what leads to school shooting, people reach their breaking points and lose it? Thats certainly one reason school shootings occur.

Then, about 2 or 3 weeks ago,my brothers friend just ended a similar incident. Hes in 3rd grade, and as alot of boys are, hes into playing cops and robbers and cowboys or whatever kids do with toy guns. His mom was cleaning out a drawer and found some old bullets, she threw them away. When tim ( we'll use that as the little boys name) asked what they were she told him none of his bussiness, just leave it alone. Well, curiosity killed the cat.

he didnt leave it alone, he found them and thought they were the coolest thing since sliced bread. He took them to school to show some of his friends, and someone told on him. As if the eighth grader being taken away in handcuffs wasnt bad enough, Tim and like 3 or 4 of his friends were as well. Their parents were called and they had to come pick them up from the police station. They were immediatly suspended, and expelled. Tims mom was beyond mad (you should have seen some of the creative punishments she came up with, she is your typical "no video games" type mom) but that would be in his permanent record, expelled in third Grade. She had to get a lawyer, go to trial, get letters from people testifying about tims character saying that he wasnt an awful, violent monster and she took the case to Court. They got the expullsion lifted, so he could have gone back to that school, but she didnt want him to, he goes to some private school now, but thats beside the point, she just didnt want "expelled" on his permanent record.

So, the point of my two long stories was, is having such strict policies a good Idea? I mean sure, they prevent alot of bad things, but they do sometimes cross the line. The kid who gets exiled from all the social groups at school because he was accused of being violent is the kid who truely will commit violent actions. Emotional stress and problems should be dealt with before they lead to violent acts occur and a kid ends up in jail for murder.

both those stories are stupid, no one that outgoing will shoot up a school

most people bottle it up or are refused to be listened to

School shootings are horrific to even think about.
You never know who could have a gun in their pocket.
It's kind of scary if you think about it, someone goes to school all happy..and then because of some stupid, most likely, drugged up kid has shot them, that's it. Over.

I just hate how people just can't get along together and can't stop killing eachother. It's not that fucking hard.

A few days ago someone at the high school down the street from me was shot in the woods right next to the school. I know many people that go to that school and it scared the living piss out of me when I heard that someone was shot there. I was really afraid for the people I know. Its a very scary though to think about people with guns and the possiblities that can occur from it.

The point I was trying to make is that they have been happening so often that they are teaching kids what to do if it happens, like as common as a heart attack

what do you think we can do to stop this? Perhaps more guidance in school would help, i dont know. But if there wasnt a devide between pupils then perhaps we wouldnt have the shootings that we do (By devide i mean social groups like the popular group, the nerds, the geeks and so on). Also like i said before if guns wernt to hand as easily as they are then we wouldnt have this problem.

But i dont think that if it wasnt guns then it would be knifes or anything else that could hurt some one.
