Dear Mike,
My boyfriend speaks as if I should "pity" him when I go out with my friend (which is rarely) because he has nothing to do. It got to the point where I said "Fuck you". Now he's feeling really hurt and so am I from a short leash in the relationship. I usually take him with me but we need some friend time.
How do I get him to come down to earth?!

Tell him your sorry it got to that point but tell him that everyone needs space once in a while. On the days where you are planning to go out with a friend tell him a day or two in advance and suggest he make plans with one of his other friends. If he doesn't have any other friends I'd suggest you guys slow down your relationship and maybe even take a break. Just because you're in a relationship does not me outside contact should cease to exist. It's important to maintain your friendships even while in a romantic relationship. That 'bros before hos' rule actually holds some merit.

I've been having trouble with school. It's not that I don't understand what's going on or that I don't want to succeed but when I get home I can't seem to bring myself to do any homework, which is bad when it's your junior year of high school. I know this is the most important year to colleges yet when I get home I don't know why but I can't work. I end up doing everything but school work, including looking through halloween costume websites, and it's May. I know I'm ADD but I'm on medication for it but it doesn't seem to help anymore. What do I do?
