The Angel and the Jerk song meaning

This song tells a story about a relationship in which one of the partners is playing the role of an angel and the other one is given the part of a jerk. So, "the jerk" is telling the angel that being ignored and taken for granted isn't something that can make the relationship work. "You must've thought you really scored" - "the angel" found a perfect partner that will put up with everything, but then "the jerk" says that this won't work, you can't neglect your partner and expect them to just deal with it, because sooner or later they will leave. "The jerk" doesn't want to be a jerk anymore, it's time to leave - "you're gonna miss me when I'm gone".
