Okay people what are your veiws on it?

do you get offended when people swear? do you get offended by certain words? do you mind it in songs or just in everyday life?

i personally dont like it when people swear for no particular reason but if they're describing something then yeah sure go for it.

It depends...if someone does it to be deliberately offensive or whatever then i dont like it (even though i do it), but if its just one of those things then fine.

I hate it when little kids (you know, about 2-4 years old) swear, it just sounds really strange for children to be shouting stuff like that in the street.

yeah and also when they do it just to show that they know swear words.

there's a kid on my bus who writes swear words on the windows when they get fogged up. he shows his mate and then rubs it off again. Rolling Eyes

Fuck censorship....is all I have to say

.....I express myself how I feel the need to

If that means using profanities......so be it

I really dont like it when people use a swear word every second word, or in front of old people or people who should be respected eg: your parents, granparents, shopkeepers or if someones walking by on the road and people shout things at them. Thats a total lack of respect.

I think it's all about knowing the limits. I wouldn't swear around people who are offended by it, but among those who I know don't mind it, I swear, if I concised that appropriate.
I think Alanis Morissette said something like "Profanity is merely an expression of one's feelings", and I fully agree with that.
Of course, senseless swearing like "Dude, you like fucking don't fucking get it!" is kinda pathetic in my opinion, but if you're just trying to make a description sound more powerful or you're just expressing your irritation, that's fine with me.

Of course, it kinda sucks to hear 5-year-olds swear, and it makes sense that it's censored out on TV. But I think profanity helps people blow the steam and relieve the stess. So, honestly, if I had a 16-year-old child, I'd rather hear them swear than see them fight.

I have the mouth of a trucker.

But I know how to stop it in front of old people/children/school/work.

In conclusion: I have no problem with it, people can say what they want, but be respectful of the people who may hear it.

And I listen to rap, so I have no problem with swearing in songs.

I swear like a motherfucking sailor. Woa. Let's edit that out.

I don't mind swearing in songs.

...But I personally hate it when kids...that are younger than like 8 or something swear. It's...annoying. I mean, you gotta know that you'll probably swear as you get older but as a kid, it's just...iunno.
I also don't like it when parents or whatever say "Don't swear!" or something...well, either way, kids already swear. So to make it obsolete, you'd have to remove swearing from the whole world's vocabulary.

Life gets a bit hard if someone gets hurt/offended by words that aren't directed towards them or anyone and don't mean anything.

I agree with that, I do swear when I get wound up or when drunk I seem to do it more, but if someone swears at me I dont like it! and the *C* word as you put it, is just the worst thing anyone can say, its a horrible word!

I dont mind people who swear from time to time or with reason. but every other word is a bit OTT
