They don't get the money from cd sales- they get a lump sum from the record company and then get added amounts from ticket sales.
All in all, music piracy: Not bad.
Also- to whomever asked if I downloaded Green Day's stuff- I downloaded American Idiot to see if it was worth buying (all their other cds have been gifts over the years). I'll always download an album first, then if it's worth it, I will buy it.
 Do you think record companies Just pull these amounts of money out of a magic hat? How much money an artist recieves is based off of the record sales. |

HMV and JB Hi Fi will both have them, you just have to ask them to order it in.
Yeah, even if I can't get the CD from a CD store near me, I still ask them to order it in for me xDD |

but I'm more of a vintage guy and prefer cassettes to anything (then vinyl, but it's harder to find and I only have about fifty
