hey guys...i know that global warming sux ok and i know it is majorly assonine wat we are doing to the Earth.....but i am willing to deal with global warming....cause u know wat would happen we werent causing global warming?....a fucking ice age......and that would not be fun....and the ppl that live in the nortern and southern parts of the world will definetly agree that it is NOT fun to go for long ass stretches of time when it doesnt reach 0 as a daytime high...and it would be like that almost all year long everywhere but the equator if we were in an iceage....so im willing to let global warming go.....and i dont honestly believe that its all global warming that is causing the warmer temps...if u look at a timeliine of the earths temperature ups and downs...we arent as warm as it has been in the past...and this hasnt really been a long incline of temp either....so maybe its justa cycle of the earth...im not sayin thats all...but maybe we arent fucking up the earth as bad as some scientists are telling us

Global warming is a serious issue and if people keep ignoring it, we will all be screwed...the polar ice caps have shrunk severly which is causing a rise in our water levels, and if we keep going at the rate we are going we are going to have a serious problem...there are many things we can do to stop destroying the ozone layer like buy hybrid cars or electric cars...you dont have to give up your transportation just dont drive hummers around all the time...and what happened on "The day after tomorrow" is very possible, not at the rate that the movie showed it but that could happen at a more gradual rate and if we keep ruining the world thats exactly what will happen

Global currents coming from the melting polar ice caps causing global cooling.

Let me tell you how...

Because the Earth is heating at an alarmingly high rate, many ice bergs and ice caps and ice sheets are cracking and melting very quickly. This freezing water is carried by ocean currents, taking the cold fronts and water towards the land masses. These will cool the land and air causing massive differences in air pressure and in turn, hurricanes, torrnados, cyclones and big storms.

Just like the movie. It's pretty damn accurate.

but the earth is way cooler now than it was before...if you look at charts and stuff, were actually in a cooling curve...so a little warming isnt that bad.

I don't think our species will live long enough to see a terrible efect of global warming.

i agree, i definetly dont think the way the human race is headed , that our race has anything to worry about....we will either cause nuclear winter, die of some horrible disease, or we'll all leave and die trying to get to mars or some other planet...so im not sure by the time global warming starts to seriously negatively have an effect on us , thta we'll all be in a state to be effected.....also if this is happening slowly, maybe humans will evolve to cope with higher temperatures and more water....hmmm....amphibious and iceboxes....interesting combos.....we're all gonna look fucked up some day....YAY!

I think that because of all of the pollution, the waters gonna get really hot and cause hurricanes which will destroy the land, then the ice caps are gonna melt and add more water to the ocean which will then flood the whole earth. Then, were gonna get sumburn cause of there is gonna be no ozone layer and then were all gonna die Smile

It's affected Australia.

Well, it might not be global warming, but there's sure as hell a drought.

Then again, I live on the driest continent on earth, so yeah.

this is how it works. ok we spread gasses in the air. mostly from cars. then instead of leaving earth like reaguler air does because it's so think it just sits up there. no this is how the heat works. the heat from the earth hits water like a huge mirror. normally it will just go fly out in to space. but since we have the gas in the top of the ozone the light just reflects of that back to earth. now everything is heating up. ice caps are melting, hurricanes are coming. but you think all the gas we get from cars, and oil refineries we have the since to cut back. it really wouldn't be that hard. we just need to find other means of transpertation. but that causes a problem too. what about people who have no money. the gas would leave if just had a way. now it has to go political. but are president is being bought of by the gas companies so he wont do anything. and we need him to. because they wont listen to the rest of the world. so pretty much were going to get hotter and hotter. we have been gaining about a degreee a day. u say no big deal right. wrong. think about a hundred years from now. thats about a hundred degrees. great huh. think about that when your complaining to get a ride from your dad in the mourning.

Okay, first of all, no offense but for those of you who are saying that "it was really cold last week and now it's hot" or "our summers are getting hotter each year"--that's not global warming. If I'm not mistaken, the earth is supposedly only getting a few degrees warmer each year. We really don't know enough about global warming to make too many conclusions--there's still a very large faction that believes the earth is in fact getting colder.

Apparently, this whole thing about a new ice age coming is completely true though, and it's a cycle that has existed as long as this planet has. It probably won't happen for several thousand years, and if humans even still exist then we'll just have to hope we have the technology to cope with an icy planet.

The ozone layer is, however, something we should be thinking about. It wouldn't be depleting this quickly if humans weren't on Earth, of course, and therefore we do indeed need to be doing something about it. (And if I'm not mistaken a lot has been done already, with cutting down use of aerosol and fluorocarbons, etc. I'm not saying this is enough though.)

I'd say that global warming may be very important, but it has been greatly exaggerated as a scare tactic. Now, nuclear radiation...cancer...AIDS...these are things that we should really be focusing on.

I wathched the news last night, and there was a report about global warming saying that the effects of global warming is 'worse' than we thought. i.e the ice caps are melting faster than expected and the seas will rise a few 7 meters more than what people firdt expected.
Some global warming specialist said that Global warming is a bigger threat than terrorism???
I personaly think think that is a load of bollocks... how about you?

Why would they lie though?
A about a year ago I saw a report saying that the temperture would start drop lower than ever before over the next twenty years in this part of the world. And this has been the coldest winter I can ever remember.

2 billion people.
A third of the world's population.

Someone said the temperature is set to rise by 1*C a year? To see what happens in a hundred years? Why in a hundred years? WHY NOT FIVE? OR EVEN TEN???????

We can't -AND WE WON'T- be able to deal with this -and nobody cares!
