I don't think so, no. I always used to pray when I was a kid and nothing good came out of it. I believed, I was hopeful. I got shit.
so no.

I think it does.
Having positive thoughts distracts one from bad sides of the problem he/she has. And that helps.

Even if the problem eventually doesn't disappear. The fact you believe it will helps you feel better. At least for a while.

I agree, if anything praying acts as an intensive for one to want to do better.

I don't know, does asking something that doesn't exist to do something for you work?

I know respect other people's beliefs, but that's mine. I think it's more of a matter of coincidence. I think it's ridiculous to ask God for something that can be achieved through hard work, I know THE TERROR! NOT THE W WORD! If you pray, for like a friend or family member to like recover from some terrible disease I find merit in that, and if the person knows about it, I think it'll help them fight harder the people that love them so. But I don't think that some being can just snap his fingers and poof, the disease is gone just because you asked it to.

it worked Cassie

On the other hand, before my Latin AS, I prayed that the exam wouldn't include chapters 15 - 19 of Cicero.
the whole damn exam was on those chapters. No

You don't pray to get THINGS. Praying gives you some sort of hope in the world and it also does something psychologically.

You pray for the COURAGE or STRENGTH to do something in order to better yourself or have a productive day. It's also about letting yourself go and helping you relax by imagining yourself giving your will up to someone else and let his will be done.

I'm Agnostic so I believe in the personal relationship aspect of religion, not the Church. That's how I've come to these realizations on my own. lol

I believe praying works.
I just think that many who don't believe in prayer don't realize that God works on His time, not ours.

dysLEXIa and Jessica Lacey are correct. You can't pray for a family member's health to get better and see them up and at it the next day. Part of praying is having faith that in time something will happen.

I have faith in the big guy, he's gotten me through a lot of stuff.

I eat pasta and dress in full Pirate regalia and pray to the FSM. Sometimes I don't even wear the full Pirate regalia and my prayers work. So yeah, I totally think that it works. I guess if you want something bad enough or if you do what you're supposed to or whatever (the flimsy moral standards thing totally works for me) then it'll work for ya. I dunno.

You can't say that it works,
Or that it doesn't,
Because it just all depends on who you are,
And what you believe,
And how you live.

Well if someone can't say it works or doesn't work... how come you can call it a waste of time?

It's about faith. If you believe in it, you can convince yourself it works.
If you don't believe in it, you can come up with a million reasons it doesn't work.
There's no way to back up that it does or doesn't work because you can't provide evidence of your own inner faith or anybody else's.

If you read, I said in my book,
My thoughts on it,
;].

I think it's a waste of time.
But I take it you don't?
That's just who you are, what you think, what you believe, and how you live
Vise vs. for me.

Then why can't somebody else say "in my book it works."
If you're going to say that others can't say if it works or doesn't, you shouldn't be able to say it's a waste of time, because that's really saying it doesn't work, which means you're saying what you said others can't say.

Yes I do. I think that prayers are heard by God and that he helps up if we pray correctly. I think that we're created with a reason and that is to prays our God and to pray to him in our difficult times.

It's just don't YOU understand here.

I mean,
You can't say it does or doesn't work for sure.
Because theres no way prove it,
And, it depends on what I listed before.

Okay?
My goodness.
Are you done now?
